Solastalgia
As a poetic reflection on irreversible processes of the anthropocene, ‘Solastalgia’ is a sequence of audiovisual pieces that slowly transform their colors into black and white, in parallel with their sounds, which are turning from concrete, recognizable birdsongs into static noise. While the shapes of the visual components are generated from crane migration data, the changing colors and sounds of the environment represent the directional transition of migrating birds in an abstract, decentralized space. The sequence starts with a unique 1/1 edition, followed by consecutive releases with increasing edition numbers and gradually falling prices. Solastalgia is a part of the first European Generative Hackathon, NFT Deb; responding through data to the large-scale climatic issue and crisis of bird migration.
